The space
Welcome to Wanderlust Farms—a lakeside glamping retreat tucked along the Rock Island Spur of the Katy Trail in Missouri. This is a place built for slower mornings, golden-hour sunsets, and the kind of quiet you can actually feel. The Setting At the heart of Wanderlust is our private lake—often glassy and calm, reflecting wide-open skies and the natural beauty of the land around it. Whether you’re arriving by bike from the trail or driving in for a peaceful reset, the property feels like your own little hidden pocket of Missouri. If you love to fish, you’ll be right at home here. Guests regularly tell us the fishing is amazing, and it’s one of the most memorable parts of staying on the lake. The Wanderlust Vibe Wanderlust Farms is nature-forward and intentionally uncluttered—more “authentic retreat” than “perfect resort.” It’s a place to gather, wander, read, nap, laugh, and look up at the stars. You’ll find a mix of cozy comfort and outdoor charm, with thoughtful touches that invite you to spend time outside. Standout Amenities Your stay includes access to spaces across the property—plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. Highlights include: Private lake views + incredible fishing Canoes and kayaks for a peaceful paddle A charming greenhouse-style outdoor shower A seasonal stock tank pool for cooling off on warm days Three unfurnished teepees—perfect for shade, lounging, yoga, reading, or a casual hangout space It’s easy to make the day your own here: coffee with a lake view, a slow paddle, an afternoon by the pool, then teepee lounging as the sun drops. A Place That Changes With the Season Wanderlust is beautiful in every season we’re open—from spring greens to late-summer sunsets and crisp fall air. Because we’re surrounded by nature, you’ll see birds and wildlife, hear frogs in the evening, and experience the outdoors in a way that feels real and refreshing. Simple Notes for a Smooth Stay To help everyone enjoy the property safely and comfortably: The lake is best enjoyed for fishing and boating (we don’t allow swimming). If you’re planning something bigger—groups or events with 5+ guests—we handle those by custom arrangement so we can set everything up thoughtfully. Support During Your Stay Wanderlust Farms is self-check-in, and while a manager isn’t on-site for standard stays, we’re available by message to support you. For events, an optional on-site event manager can be booked in advance for an hourly fee to help the day run smoothly. If you’re looking for a stay that feels peaceful, scenic, and a little magical—trail access, lake views, teepees, a greenhouse shower, and truly amazing fishing—Wanderlust Farms is ready to welcome you.
